I felt feverish, and I couldn't move. I tried to open my eyes, but something heavy weighed on my eyelids.
Although I couldn't see or move, I heard voices around me. The first one was female, and she had an English accent like Sheriff Gray. "She's still got a fever."
Then, I heard a male voice. "What if she doesn't wake up?" He had the same accent, but he wasn’t the sheriff.
At that moment, I realized they were talking about me. "Don't worry...she will."
"It's my fault. Dad’s going to bloody kill me."
"It's not your fault. Stop saying that. She’ll be okay, and Dad will understand."
"I shouldn't have brought her here."
"You did the right thing by bringing her here. I can take care of her."
There was a momentary pause. "What if she finds out?"
"That's for Dad to decide."
The voices faded in and out. Sleep bore down on me, but the last words I heard from the man stuck in my head. "I'll watch over her."
A severely dry mouth and splitting headache interrupted my peaceful sleep. I couldn’t hear the two voices, but I heard breathing in my left ear like someone was sleeping next to me. I tried to open my eyes so that I could ask them for water and medicine for my headache. The weight on my eyes was gone, so I tried to open them, but they felt sticky this time. I struggled to peel them open, blinking rapidly to loosen my eyelashes.
When I finally opened my eyes, they felt swollen. The pain in my head spread throughout my entire body. Dim light surrounded me in this strange room. I lay on a bed and looked up at the ceiling. I tried to speak, but my throat was dry. Only a quiet wheeze escaped. A low groan followed as my headache pounded against my temples. I still felt hot and sweaty. Layers of blankets covered me, and I wanted to yank them off. When I touched my abdomen, I wore nothing but my bra and panties.
My eyes darted around the unfamiliar room. On the wall, I noticed a shadow of something next to me. What the hell is that? I turned my head and saw a candle in the window, but what cast the shadow scared me to death. A large, white wolf lay on the floor beside me. There was no mistaking it for a dog. The bed was low to the floor, and its head was close to mine. I opened my mouth wide, prepared to scream, but wheezes and weak gasps escaped, instead. I thrashed my head against the pillow, as if the motions would turn up the volume in my voice. Finally, a shriek pushed through my sandpaper throat. It was a high-pitched squeal at first, but then, it burst forth and filled the room. I sat up quickly. Aching pain tore through my body, and I heard my bones crack.
The wolf awoke with a start. It jerked its head up, and glowing, yellow eyes blinked until they settled on me. I shrank away from it, nearly falling off the bed, screaming until I went hoarse and gasped for breath. The wolf stood on all fours, its size definitely that of a Great Dane. Our gazes locked for a brief moment before the animal ran out the room. I sat against the headboard, clutching the blankets against my chest. I was alone and terrified. Within seconds, tears trickled down my cheeks.

Book Showcase: Unabashed (Overwatch#2) by @SashaWhite #EroticRomance

The follow up to the bestselling novella UNFETTERED is here.

She’s finally found a man who sees her for the woman she is, and she’s not holding back.
Mechanic Veronica “Ronnie” Mack joined the Overwatch club because she’d given up on finding love, and decided to settle for sexual satisfaction. Then Ian, her childhood crush, walked back into her life as one of the club’s Trainers, and proved that their connection was as strong as ever.

Computer guru Ian Johnson’s work kept him busy, with little time for a social life, which is just the way he liked it. Then Ronnie Mack strode into the club, and straight back into his heart. He couldn’t deny the need to make her his own, and now he’s learning that training a sub he’s in love with is a whole new adventure.

Excerpt:

When they got to her place, she wasn’t sure exactly what would happen. She’d expected them to do a scene at the club right after their negotiations, but instead Ian had pointed her toward the door and they’d left. She was about to ask why they were leaving when she remembered she’d given him all control whenever they were together, and bit her tongue. It was going to take some getting used to, but not knowing what was going to happen gave her a little thrill.
Okay, a big thrill.
She’d also enjoyed the way he’d guided her to his car, and opened the door for her, handing her into the seat and making sure she buckled up before he closed it. It should’ve felt overbearing, or like he was treating her like a child, but it didn’t. Instead, it made her all warm and soft inside.
Now, as they entered her apartment, she stopped, standing still in the middle of her living room, anticipation making her belly quiver. Ian closed the door, and, after a quick look around the small space, he said simply, “Show me your bedroom.”
She led him down the short hall, the heat of his gaze on the back of her legs making her add a little extra swing to her hips as she went.
“This will do,” he said when he stopped near the end of her double bed. “Take your clothes off and present yourself for me.”
Once she got her boots off, Ronnie made quick work of getting rid of the rest of her clothes. When she was completely naked, she moved in front of Ian and stood straight and tall.
“Hands behind your head, and legs spread,” he directed softly. “I want to be able to see and touch all that you’re offering me.”
As he moved forward, walking slowly around her body, telling her how every Dom had their own preferences as far as protocols went, something new happened. Her mind slowed, and she stopped thinking about what would come next or if he liked her small breasts, and she let herself sink into the energy he was putting out there.
“You’re going to start learning my preferences now, and I’m going to learn a few of your body’s secrets. When I ask you to come to me, standing straight like that is fine. But when I say present yourself, I want you open so I can do this.” He stroked fingertips down her side, and she sucked in a breath, goose bumps rising on her skin instantly. “Ticklish?”
“A little.”
His hand moved down across her stomach and between her legs. “Or this,” he said as his fingers brushed lightly over the curls covering her sex.
A shiver ripped through her, and he smiled. “You’re very responsive.”
“Thank you, Sir.”
His smile grew, and her insides heated some more. “Let’s see what else you like, shall we?”
He ran his hands over her body, stroking her here, kissing her there, pinching her everywhere, sometimes soft, sometimes hard. It didn’t take him long to discover that she enjoyed having her breasts slapped, but not her ass.
“Ouch!” she’d cried out, dropping her arms and swinging around to stare at him the first time he’d smacked her hard. When she realized what she’d done, she lifted her shoulders and smiled pretty, trying to be cute. “Oops?”
His lips twitched. She saw! Then he took her wrists and placed them back on her head, bent her forward at the waist, and smacked her ass three times hard and fast until it burned. She bit her lip and moaned but didn’t move again. She liked the other touches way better.
Ian smoothed his hand over her fiery cheeks then under to finger her dripping pussy. “Seems your body likes a little bit of pain, doesn’t it, my girl? Or is it the punishment factor you like?”
When she didn’t answer right away, he pulled his fingers out and smacked her again.
“I don’t know!” she said quickly. “I like some roughness, but I’ve never really been a fan of pain. Which is how that feels.”
“And this? How does this feel?” he asked, pinching her right nipple between thumb and forefinger slowly. She moaned, arching her back but trying to not to lean toward him. “Good.”
“Only good?” He let go of her wrists and got a hold of her other nipple.
“Amazing, Sir.”
“Tell me.”
Ronnie struggled to form words to describe what she was feeling. “It’s like my nipples are the posts on a battery and you’re jump-starting my engine. Everything in me is focused right there, and when you squeeze, it all shoots to my–” He squeezed her nipples a little harder, and she went up on her tiptoes, words tumbling from her lips. “To my pussy! To my cunt! Lightning bolts from nipple to cunt.”
Fire lit his eyes up, and he leaned down, slamming his mouth over top of hers. All of a sudden, the gentle teacher was gone, and a master was kissing her. His tongue thrust between her parted lips, taking, tasting, owning her as he sucked away all of her breath. Her knees melted along with her insides, and she let all of her weight go as his arms wrapped around her.
She whimpered, wanting to writhe against him as the pressure built between her thighs. His erection pressed against her belly, but she wanted to feel it lower. She wanted to feel it hot and hard and naked, probing at her entrance.
He pulled back, chuckling evilly as he began to unbutton his shirt. “Hands on the bed, ass to me.”

“Yes, Sir!” she snapped out sassily, moving with an eagerness that should’ve been embarrassing, but wasn’t.

Standard Author Interview

Do you see writing as a career? Do you write full time? Or in addition to another job?
I do see writing as my career. It is definitely my main passion and always has been. I just finally got to a point in my life where I was sick of putting it on the back burner as something I planned to do down the road. I’ve really made writing my main focus over the last year, and I have four books out to show for it.

If I can make money writing, that’s kind of icing on the cake, but my main goal is to continue doing what I love. Creating stories and writing is something that’s in my soul. It’s something I HAVE to do.
Sadly, I’m not independently wealthy so I can’t just sit and write all the time with no other cares in the world (but I fantasize about that). So even though I have to bring some money in, I got tired of working in the corporate world. Even though I was bringing in a big paycheck, I felt as if it sucked the creativity right out of me.
Now, I have an awesome job as a line editor for a publishing house, and I LOVE it!! I get to read books, and they pay me — it’s amazing!! I’ve made so many friends and I’ve really connected with some great authors. I may not be making as much money as I did at my soul-sucking corporate job, but I am happy!! I’m doing things that feed my soul, and isn’t that the most important thing?
Do you have a cover artist you’ve worked with that you’d like to give props to?
Jay Aheer with Simply Defined Art has done all of my covers so far. She is an incredible artist! And let me tell you, her covers are scorching hot!! Amazon actually slapped an adult filter on one of my covers because it was too hot, so we had to fix it. That’s why if you look at my books on Amazon, you’ll see that one of my covers has a black bar over the middle. Haha.

What book would we find you reading right now?
I actually have a couple of books going right now. I’m reading Their Virgin Secretary by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake. It’s the sixth book in that series, which is awesome if you enjoy ménage.

I’m also reading Draw Me Close, by my friend Nicole Michaels. It’s the third book in the Hearts and Crafts trilogy. I really enjoy these books because Nicole is amazing with character development.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Writing a book series is harder than I thought it would be. You have to remember that once you put something out there, you can’t change it in a later book. I had a great story idea for one character who I was going to make a mechanic. Then I remembered that in the first book I made a brief comment about him owning a construction business. At the time I wrote it, I didn’t really think about it, but then I was stuck in a box with a later book. It’s really made me much more aware of what I put out there and how it’s going to affect the story and the characters down the line.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
I have a lot of authors I really admire. Lexi Blake is my absolute favorite author. I love her books because they have everything I love – a great love story, nail-biting suspense, crazy hot sex, a bit of kink, and humor!!  A great combination!!

What does your writing desk look like? What would we find on it right this minute? (Have fun with this question. If your desk is a mess, tell us! J include a picture if you’d like)
Oh yikes. I actually don’t like to write at a desk. I have a giant club chair in the corner of my family room that has become Mission Control. It’s the place I’m most comfortable writing, so I’ve decided to just roll with it. I could use a larger end table as you will see in the picture. (Yes, I included a picture, so brace yourself.) Right now, on my table, you will find a box of Girl Scout cookies (Shortbread) that I bought from my daughter. There’s my Minnie Mouse mug full of coffee, a giant-sized bottle of ibuprofen, hand lotion, a couple of remotes, my phone, my iPad, and scratch paper that I was using last night to help my daughter with math homework. We’re multiplying and dividing fractions… which is why I need the giant bottle of ibuprofen. :-)
Have you learned anything from writing your book(s)? If so, what was it?
Oh yes! I’ve learned you shouldn’t try to please everyone. It’s not possible. There are billions of people in the world, and you’re never going to please all of them, so as long as you can please yourself, I consider that a success. There are going to be people out there who don’t like what you write, and who leave you bad reviews. On my first book, I had two reviewers site a specific thing in the book. One reviewer hated it and gave me two stars, and the other reviewer loved it and gave me five stars. So yes, I have learned not to write with the reader over my shoulder. I write for me. I write because I love it.

One thing other authors told me before my book was out was that I needed to “develop a thick skin.” I wasn’t quite sure what they meant. Then my first book came out. I’m originally from a small town, and I’m a mom who’s very active in PTA. And my first book was ménage erotic suspense. Needless to say, there were a lot of people who did (and still do) judge me. But here’s the great thing—I don’t care! (See above comment about only pleasing yourself.) In spite of that, I was more surprised at the people who I never thought would read the type of genre I write who came up to me and told me how much they loved my book.  Seriously, never be ashamed of what you write… or read for that matter!
What are you currently working on? Can you give us a sneak peek?
I’m currently working on book two in my Ozark Magic series. I know it’s been a few months since the first book came out, but I’ve been working so hard on my Love With A Price series, that I didn’t have time to work on this one. But I’m on it in full force now!

This book in the Ozark Magic series is a sequel to my very first book, Double Down. This one is entitled Fierce Temper. Like my first one, it is ménage erotic suspense. It’s the story of Tessa, Milo, and Archer. I don’t want to give too much away, but Tessa is hiding a very big secret. Soon, everyone will discover what it is, and she will have to deal with the repercussions from that. In addition, she’s been running from someone in her past. That person shows up, and Tessa immediately finds that her life is in danger. She’ll need the help of her friends and the men in her life to survive. The book is about two-thirds completed, and I’m really hoping to finish it up and get it submitted soon.
Do you write about things similar to your own life experiences?
Yes and no. Luckily, no one has ever tried to kill me, so when I write suspense, I have to use my imagination. I’m also not super rich, which is kind of a bummer. :-)

I do keep aspects of my story close to home, though. I write about places I’m familiar with. There’s nothing that bugs me more than someone writing about a place they know nothing about. Even though the actual towns in my books have been fictional, they are based on real towns and real places.
For characters, I use the personalities of people I know. When I’m writing a character based on my best friend, it’s easy to know exactly how that character would respond to a situation.

As far as actual events, there have been a few things that have come up in my book that have actually taken place in real life. I like to take real events and then ask myself “What if” and then “Suppose that” and build from there. :-)
